Press the button above and download VNChecker-Setup.exe.
Double-click the downloaded file. The setup window appears: choose the folder, tick the desktop-shortcut box if you want one, then click through to the end.
Done. Type VN Checker into Windows search to open it, or use the desktop shortcut.
The app works the moment it opens — it connects straight to this server, so you need no SQL Server, no Java and no API key.
If Windows blocks it
This installer is not code-signed, so Windows may stop it at one of two levels:
· "Windows protected your PC" — that is SmartScreen: click More info, then Run anyway. · "Smart App Control has blocked this app" — your PC has Smart App Control on, and it has no override. Do not turn Smart App Control off just to install one app: once off, it cannot be turned back on without reinstalling Windows. In that case simply use the website, or see the note below.
Android
An .apk you install directly — home-screen icon, full screen, just like any other app.
Tap the downloaded file to install. Android will ask you to allow installing apps from this source — approve it once. Requires Android 7.0 or newer.

Why is the app only a few hundred KB when the Windows build is hundreds of MB? Because the app UI is this website. The app carries no copy of the interface — it shows the live site — so when the web design changes the app follows immediately, with no new APK to download.
The trade-off: the app needs a network and a running VN Checker server, exactly like opening the site in a browser.
This APK is signed with VN Checker's own key rather than distributed through Google Play, so Android asks for your approval the first time — normal for any app installed outside the store.
Not comfortable? Then do not install it
Plainly: this is a personal project, the installer is unsigned, and you have no way to look inside an .exe to see what it does. Being suspicious is reasonable.
So if you are not comfortable, there are two fine options:
· Do not install it. Just use this website — the app gives you no feature the site lacks; it is the same site in its own window. · Ask for the source. There is a form on the Request the source code page — fill it in and it writes the email for you. I will invite your GitHub username to the repository with read-only access, so you can read exactly what the app does.
